Five Axioms for Writing Powerful Delphi Statements

BLOG: The most critical skill for creating a high-impact Delphi study is the ability to write powerful statements. Taking a few moments to learn how to write statements correctly will save hours of time and can increase the quality of your research remarkably. Fortunately, while the requirements for a great Delphi statement are not the same as a survey question, writing the statements need not be difficult. Researchers should follow these five simple axioms to create powerful statements. View

Is there a limit to the number of questions that can be presented for a Delphi study?

ANSWER: There is no limit to the number of questions.

Does the platform offer an autosave feature that saves responses as participants answer each question, rather than requiring completion of the entire page?

ANSWER: The platform immediately saves all results. Participant can return to the platform at any time to revise or finish their ratings up until the moment you close the survey.

By any chance, does stat59 offer a "branching" option in response to a statement question?

ANSWER: We do have branching options on our normal survey modules, but not on the Delphi module. Normally Delphi studies require all participants to answer all questions.

Where can I find the threshold for determining if "consensus" has been reached for statements in a delphi study?

ANSWER: You will not have direct access to view the consensus thresholds. Generally, these are pre-set at a standard deviation of <= 1.00 on the 1-7 scales, and >=67% of experts choosing the same response on the other scales. We can change those on the backend if you need to use other cut-offs. We strongly suggest using the 1-7 scale and the SD <= 1.00 as your rating scale, as we have studied and published on the reliability of this method. View
